Reposting theory from thread before last.

Alright, theory time.

The world of MLP:FiM is not Geocentric. Celestia does not actually make the sun rise, nor has she ever. As fitting her name, Celestia was actually set to govern the stars UNDER Luna's watch. Growing jealous of her "younger" sister's power, she promised the Constellations freedom to walk upon the earth if they assisted her in imprisoning Luna.

The whole "Celestia raises the sun" deal was nothing more than government propaganda to cover up the truth of Celestia's betrayal. The only reason she hasn't been outed yet is that the entire society of the Ponies is based upon the religious following of Celestia. Anything to upset that would just throw the world into Chaos.

tl;dr: Celestia is actually in charge of the stars and usurped Luna. Luna, now free, is keeping the truth hidden to avoid throwing the entire pony civilization into chaos.

Last night I dreamt I skydove off of Rainbow Dash some godly distance in the air, freefell for a full minute, and landed on impact without a scratch, creating a humungous crater. When the dust settled, I was completely decked out in knight's armor with a Canterlot tabard. I drew my longsword and hacked through these little gruesome shadow monsters along side unicorns, earth ponies, and pegasi in the air to the castle courtyard.

Why does everyone portray Celestia as such a cruel tyrant?
I believe she has no choice but to rule Equestria with an iron hoof in a velvet glove. I've had plenty of dreams where I knew I was dreaming, it didn't mean anything. I still didn't seem to realize lucid dreaming was an option.

I think it has something to do with how I don't usually remember my dreams, beyond that I had them and the general sense they had. Maybe a few details now and then. Wish I could, most of them are really fun.

WILD is wake-initiated lucid dreams. Pretty much it means you're fully aware when you "fall asleep".
If you're lying in your bed with your eyes closed, waiting to fall asleep, and you suddenly wake up next morning, you've already missed that "middleman".

The trick is to keep your mind active without keeping yourself awake.
I normally recall my last dream and then daydream with my eyes closed, and relax my breathing.
This is where the sleep paralysis occurs, which has happenend to me the first several times. You just have to stay calm and keep your eyes closed and it passes.
To keep it prolonged, you can rub your hands together or spin in place in your dream body. I personally love spinning because Twilight always asks me "Why did you do that?" and I'll say shit like "Just sticking around for a bit more."

ok you guys are throwing the words "lucid dreaming" around and i dont think you all know what it means.

a lucid dream is when you realize you are in a dream, and gain the ability to "control" it somewhat.

sleep paralysis is a condition where you are awake, but currently cannot move. its like a "half-dream". your body paralyzes during sleep so you dont go thrashing around and hurting yourself. sleep paralysis is when you are still conscious during this, and can lead to some crazy ass hallucinations.

when people attempt to lucid dream, they try to induce sleep paralysis, and then start dreaming. allowing them to go into a dream while conscious.

Fucking Christ. Sleep paralysis is perfectly normal. Everybody goes through it every night and you'd have serious problems if you didn't.

Every night when you sleep, you enter REM sleep and you have very intense dreams, few of which you'll remember. While dreaming, your own body causes sleep paralysis. You still breath, your heart still beats, you will still roll around in bed. But you can't consciously move your muscles. Why not? Because if you did, you'd be acting out the things you'd be doing in your dreams. People who sleep walk have problems achieving sleep paralysis.

Occasionally a person will wake up in the middle of a dream (a nightmare for instance) and will find themselves unable to move their bodies for a few seconds until the sleep paralysis wears off. If the person feels the need to get out of bed quickly (because of the monster about to eat them), then it can be a little frightening.

I'm talking like seven-year-olds frightening. Adults should no better. It does not and can not cause suffocation.

It really works, I would suggest keeping a dream journal and starting to try to recognize and take control of your dreams (I just jump and if gravity is weak I know i'm in a dream) Starting with DILD is best I think, then you can get into WILD when you have more experience. In my dreams I've watched (and been in) episodes of my favorite shows that i have never seen except within my dream, including MLP... it's pretty cool.

if somebody began at an earlier age they will always be better than you could ever hope to be, simply because they've had more time to evolve their skill.

It's pretty much pointless trying to learn anything or go anywhere once you pass the age of 20, you can become a great manager or business man or any other job which doesn't require a direct artistic talent or skill, but you're wasting your time trying to do otherwise.

It's a brutal truth, but it's better you learn to accept it and find something else you can be good at.
