Would you allow me to use some of them to flesh out the pony populace? Credit will be given where credit is due (already have a footnote for Lucid. They kept a lookout from the top of their house. They were sent there by Celestia, and they sure weren't going to return to her after the town was torn apart, not again at least. They looked to and fro, the lightning their only source of light. Suddenly, they picked up the wings of beasts flying over the trees. They prepared their hearts for the worst, it was a wyvern! These mad beasts have been known to set fire to large chunks of land on a whim, and no magic could protect Ponyville from its impending doom.

But instead of barbecuing the the city of Ponyville, It reentered the forests. It was chasing something. Or it was being chased by something. A sudden bolt of lightning illuminated their situation, but dampened their spirits.

It was Fluttershy.

Lightning has just struck my brain. A S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC mod that turns your fellow stalkers roaming the zone into ponies.

Chapter One: “The Mare with No Name”

Some called her a savior; others, not so much. Whether she was one or the other often depended on how much
cash somepony had riding on whatever matters she chose to involve herself in. Either way, all agreed that she tended
to make life “interesting” for those that stayed in her general vicinity for very long.
No matter what she was, she came into the town of Goldwater Springs that morning looking perfectly content to ignore
and be ignored by any folk that happened to pass her by. Of course, the well-laid plans of mice and mare don’t mean
much out in the West, where a keen eye and a fast trigger could mean the difference between life, or a long and cold
nap six feet under.

Her first stop was always the saloon. She loved a good saloon, and more often than not, they loved her back. The sun

A series of flashes appeared from where the Wyvern had landed. Twilight and Spike could easily guess that this was not natural, that something was going on, and that it involved Fluttershy. They ran down the stairs, gathering what little supplies they could on the way. And Twilight ran for all she could, she didn't want to lose one of her new friends.

The sparks of light grew brighter, but the weather got worse, the rain was like needles, each one piercing deeper and deeper. She finally made it to the river that separates Ponyville and the Evergreen Forests. The bridge had been washed away, and Twilight attempted to concentrate to be able to calculate how much power she would need to teleport herself and Spike across.

But almost as suddenly as they had started, the flashes stopped, and a low bellow could be heard. Twilight and Spike both shook with fear. Fluttershy was never the most athletic, and now they were afraid that they would never see her again.

As the realization that they may have lost their friend forever started to sink in, a small shape appeared from the forest, in their general direction. It was Fluttershy! But their joy was disturbed by Twilight's keen mind. Fluttershy was totally unhurt, after having battled a beast that is said to be able to rival Luna, maybe even Celestia in raw power.

I have been thinking about starting a play by post style quest here on /co/ and have been wondering what kid of reception you bronies would give it. If you aren't quite sure what I mean by a play by post style quest, head over to /tg/ and hit F5 until you see a quest thread in order to get an idea of how mine would work.

Anyways, the idea behind the quest is that you are an archaeologist pony (the questers will decide what kind) who has just graduated from a university in Canterlot and are in charge of your first archaeological dig somewhere on the outskirts of Equestria. What happens next is a secret.

What I need to know is how many of you would be interested in playing this, if you think I should start my own thread if I decide to do the quest or if I should run it in one of the General threads, a map of Equestria (if such a thing exists), and some kind of automatic pony generator to make the main character and the NPCs (no original cast or ORIGINAL CHARACTERS DO NOT STEAL will be in here, just the main character that will be played by the questers, and all the NPCs which will be controlled by me).

I think about this constantly. Aside from the overall quality of the show, I think its because of just how absurd the idea of liking this show is that keeps pulling people in to see what its all about. And darkish plot in the first 2 episodes just shattered preconceptions about what to expect from a pony cartoon.

But the main reason I think /co/ latched on to this so hard is because of Derpy. The derp face made only one key appearance in the first episode, and OC surrounding it just exploded.

I have it planned out pretty well and I won't be taking suggestions that don't make sense for the main character (sex/kill everyone, go to Ponyville, etc.) The map was just to give me an idea for a place to set the quest in. I don't plan on making a world map seeing as how almost all of the quest will be taking place on the digsite and maybe the surrounding area depending on how pear shaped things get, but I will if I have to. I have the antagonist planned out, but she was simple. I am working on two or thee side characters, a pony that studies ancient languages, a pony that studies ancient architecture, maybe one more (you will be one of these, the other one or two will be NPC sidekicks), and the pony in charge of the diggers. All the other ponies on the site will be students that are there for mandatory dig experience. Your advice is all good.

I might not need a pony generator, although that would mean the players would have to come up with the color, the cutiemark, and how the cutiemark relates to their specific job on the archaeological team.

Images of landscapes and generic ponies would be appreciated.

I feel almost like a Sonic fan "artist" for doing this, but gonna writefag me up a little story for my brony name.

Brother Smoulder is a stout Earth Pony, milk chocolate colored with a closely cropped Chestnut colored mane, as well as a tail usually kept in a knot, both to avoid catching fire from sparks. His stud stamp (cutie mark) is of an black anvil being struck by a blacksmith's hammer.

Born to a family of Blacksmiths and miners, most of his work is making horseshoes and farm implements. Occasionally he is commissioned for armor for Canterlot's guards and knights, though this rarely happens. Although Equestria is usually a peaceful place, with most ponies having no need for weapons, he hammers out swords and axes in his spare time, hoping to keep the tradition passed down in his family alive. Although most of his time is spent at the forge and anvil, occasionally he spends time in Ponyville's soda bar, enjoying an ice cold rootbeer.

Okay, that was terrible, but it's out now and you never have to see it again.

The three days were up, and Twilight Sparkle was already awake long before Celestia brought up the sun. She wondered how a pony like Fluttershy battled a Wyvern in the Everfree forests, after she had checked out the battlefield. It was too low a pitch to be a real danger, and not high enough for her to have ruined her new clothes, so it was clearly another pony violating fashion laws. Twilight decided to look what was going on, better to head into disaster knowing what to expect, than to have it brought up behind you, she thought.

And there was Rarity. She was moving in a blur, taking measurements at speeds that would have made Dash envious. But the real surprise was WHAT she was measuring, a pony covered in scales. The small detail took a moment to sink in, only to leave Twilight bewildered and confused. She approached the pony, only to realize that, underneath all that, was Fluttershy. Twilight wondered if the red scale armor gave Flutershy courage to just stand there with Rarity all over the place, or whether it was just to heavy to allow her to move.

The trio soon moved into Rarity's shop. And there Twilight decided to finally get her answers. While Rarity was in the back, Twilight pressed for details. Fluttershy gave her what little she knew.
