01/31/11(Mon)13:26 No.23080192>>23080177 FRIENDOFF in the middle of a conversation of no real consequence, another voice broke over the radio "this is king 3-3, interrogative, anyone else seein something in the air on our 2?" pear swivelled in the turret, and fumbled for his binoculars...bringing them to his eyes and scanning the spot in the sky for possible contacts. the comms crackled and another voice joined in "king 4-3 confirms, counts two fliers at our two'o clock"
as the four red-scarved gunners of king platoon kept their weapons trained on the spot where the fliers were seen, irons was on comms with the nearby base code-named "sweet home" "sweet home, sweet home, this is king 1-2, we have possible aerial bad guys on our two o' clock, no sign of weapons, how copy?" due to distance, it took a bit for a reply, but a half minute later..."say again king 1-2, static interference". irons repeated his message, and a full minute later..."king platoon, sweet home does not copy, get a stronger signal and contact ASAP" "FUCK!" irons shouted as he hung up the radio "we dont have comms with base, the weather must be screwing with us"
the three men in the vehicle turned to evergreen, waiting for his decision on how to handle this situation. evergreen had to think about this one, on one hand...war had not been officially declared on equestria yet, the ROE did not allow first strikes against it's citizens. on the other hand, if these "pegasus" were going to attack, he didnt want to lose men because he was slow to react... eventually, he came to a decision "irons, pass it down, "keep weapons trained but do not fire". irons nodded in agreement, and relayed the message to the rest of the platoon, who all copied and complied. "dont wanna go down in history as the man who started a war?" halco asked from his turret. "i'd rather be known as the man who finished one..." |
