The only use of her wings that seemed like actual cheating was the long jump and the tug-o-war in my opinion. The point in long jump is to get as far as you can with a single leap, so using your wings is effectively jumping twice. Similarly, the idea of a tug-o-war is to show off superior pulling strength. Letting gravity to the pulling for you is clearly cheating.

For the bird carry, there's no way you could call that cheating. The pushups... I dunno, that's questionable, but really it was just using a different set of muscles to accomplish the same goal. She was still pushing up under her own power.

I want to see parkour with ponies.

This episode reminded me of the Samurai Jack episode, Jack versus Aku. Both agreed to hand to hand combat. Jack couldn't use his sword and Aku was unable to summon minions, shapeshift, or use super-human strength.

Aku was slightly on the losing end before he started cheating just enough so it wasn't immediately obvious, much like Rainbow Dash did with her wings. Eventually both Jack and Aku said fuck it and started using full powers.

Only thing I can't quite square away is in the Ticket Master, she put her living the dream idea above the others.

Now one argument I see is that the difference between the Thunderbolts and trying to get the ticket is that she'd literally leaver her friends high and dry for going to the Thunderbolts, where as the ticket master (exluding AJ's need) was more about which friend would get a chance at a funtime. And for that, RD's competitive side came out.

But I'd really have to see RD make some more loyalty based decisions before I can really confirm her for embodiment of loyalty.

You know, I am starting to think the whole "embodiment of the element" thing isn't even the right way to look at them at all. I think they are more like what element the pony represents in relation to the central unifying element that twilight wields, signified by her crown. Dash Represents Loyalty in the circle of friends Twilight has, sort of like a portion of a sigil. It doesn't mean shes a shining becon of loyalty, an example to be followed by all. More that she is Twilights friend and demonstrated loyalty towards her, so fits the element. Twilight is the key in the whole elements of harmony thing.
