Got into the show several episodes in and watched them out of order. Original fave was Dash. Pinkie overtook her after I saw Griffon the Brush-Off, then Applebuck Season launched AJ to the top and they've pretty much been there since.

Twilight fought the Agnaktor with all her strength. She was going to protect her friends, whether they wanted it or not. It's lava saliva and the heat from the agitated volcano where doing a number on her, and she could tell that her fur was starting to come off, and revealing what lies beneath. But she couldn't worry about that, the giant lava lizard saw to that.

After many blows where struck, the creature abandoned its new holdings, seeking quieter lavaflows near quieter towns. Fluttershy, against her own fears, was the first to enter the cave. She looked around, and saw a small pile of metal and gears, with just a dash of purple fur flowing on the currents. All that remained of their friend. She rushed over, her sense of duty overriding her sense of fear, she scooped up the small sphere, and nearly wimpered as it spoke to her.

"Hey Fluttershy, did we win?"
"The Agnaktor is gone thanks to you. But you shouldn't have stressed yourself so much..." Tears were starting to appear in her eyes.
"Hey Fluttershy, I'm kinda tired, so I'm gonna go to sleep for a bit. Mind doing me one favor before I do?"

I had asked this in a previous thread and got a lot of interesting responses, so I thought I'd ask again.

How would you feel if toilet humor suddenly appeared in MLP: FiM? Seeing your favorite little ponies shitting themselves, farting, etc? Would that upset you? The Powerpuff Girls sure didn't hold back from it, so it isn't too far-fetched to believe that it could surface in this show as well.

I, the writer of the Armors fanfic from back in November, posted a comment in his blog that may have gotten him interested.

Little Derpy sits besides her letter box awaiting the delivery of her mail.
She watches the passing ponies making their rounds here and there. Nodding and smiling to anyone who she sees while she waits. A few nod back her way, some even take the time to greet her with her cutie mark name. She smiles to herself, knowing the second name many have given her behind her back. Little do they know that she thinks "Derpy" is cute in itself, and never thought bad of the nickname. More nod and pass and she waits, ever cheerful.
She looks over to her letter box, it's red flag raised proudly with it's notification that a letter is within and awaiting pick-up. She smiles at the flag, knowing the carrier will soon arrive to make the switch, lower her flag, and in this act make her day complete.
She sees the clock in the distant square nearing the final delivery deadline, looks to her mailbox, and to the now empty road.
Derpy then gets up and walks to her mailbox, opening the door and seeing the lone letter inside. She takes the letter and with a careful tap of her hoof, lowers the flag.
She walks to her mail bag, opens the flap for pick-up and sets the letter inside. Opening the other saddlebag, she takes a letter from the delivery side and returns to the open box, placing it within.
Derpy closes the mailbox door, smiles with pride, re-opens the box and takes her delivered letter.
With her mail bags and her own mail, she makes her way home to have a muffin and read her letter.

I really doubt it'll come to that. For one, FiM really is targeted toward girls more than anything, even if they do want to get boys interested (not gonna get into the peripheral demographic that we comprise). It's also targeted toward a much younger audience than PPG and is not strictly an entertainment show. They're obligated to throw in life lessons as well (though I think they handle it nicely). Lastly, the real purpose of the show from a marketing standpoint is to cram as much cuteness into your brain as you can possibly take without going over the line and making it sickening. I know that feel bro. Trixie is my favorite character in the show. One day, some guy uploaded a picture of her dead. If it was just some shit-ass MS Paint picture, I would have cared less, but it was really well drawn. It cut me man, it cut me deep. The asshurt I received from looking at it was nearly incurable. They're not perfect but they're just so likeable. I look at how women are done in some other things (particularly games) and they're really just not fun or real and trying to go off sex appeal. After signing up in epicmafia as pinkie pie i just realized how funny the ponies trying to play mafia could be. Considering mafia was originally created as a party game to play in real life it could work. Though the werewolf variant which is just mafia with the names changed would be better for them to play considering magic pony land doesn't have organized crime. Might need a two or three side characters or OC's to make the game last long enough for ponies to start Gettin Mad At VidIMean Party Games.

After she and Pinkie Pie had revealed their feelings for each other last week, Rainbow Dash had been feeling a bit odd. Thoughts of Pinkie Pie ran rampant through her mind. The constant distraction was causing her weather work and training to suffer. When other ponies began to take notice, she would insist that she was just overexhausted and would be back to her old self after some rest and relaxation. When she was able to get some time off, she decided to spend as much of it as possible with Pinkie Pie.

Today would be their first date - a word that Rainbow Dash was hesitant to use - and she wanted to make sure it was an amazing one. Pinkie Pie had to wake up early in order to bake muffins and then she would be free for the rest of the day after that. So, Rainbow Dash suggested they meet up just before sunrise, and watch the day begin.

"Hi Rainbow Dash," the bubblegum-pink Eath pony bounced out to meet the blue pegasus. "As soon as I woke up all I could think about was how much fun we were gonna have today. I was so happy I ended up making a couple dozen cupcakes by mistake. I put rainbow frosting on them just like your mane but then I thought 'She'll never be able to eat all these cupcakes by herself' so I decided to eat them all except for one."

Pinkie Pie held out a vanilla cupcake topped with rainbow frosting and a pinky candy heart in the center. A light blush formed above Rainbow Dash's smile as she took the cupcake.

"Thanks, Pinkie Pie," she said and devoured the cupcake.

It was still warm and its light, airy texture melted over Dash's tastebuds. The frosting was a lot creamier than she expected and the heart was chewy, rather than hard.

"So do you like it?" Pinkie bounced before her. "I mean they tasted good when I was eating them, but I wanted to make this one special because it was for you."

Rainbow Dash swallowed, licked her lips, and said, "That tasted amazing. Easily the best cupcake I've ever had."

"I'll make you as much as you want whenever you want," Pinkie Pie said proudly. "Just say the word and I'll make you the most delicious scrumptious tasty sweet treats ever." She gasped. "Oh! Maybe I can make us a picnic one day. I've always wanted to try making other stuff too because there's all kinds of different foods I haven't tried yet but I think I'd still prefer sweets."

Rainbow Dash felt a laugh escape her. It never ceased to amuse her whenever Pinkie Pie went of on one of her usual tangents.

"C'mon Pinkie Pie," Rainbow Dash said as she trotted away from Sugar Cube Corner. "I have the perfect place picked out for watching the sunrise and I don't wanna be late."

Pinkie Pie trotted beside her and leaned into Rainbow Dash with a contented smile. Rainbow Dash's blush flared back up. Thankfully, there weren't any other ponies around to see them. While Pinkie Pie was ready to hold a party for all of Equestria celebrating their new relationship, Rainbow Dash preferred they keep it a secret. Pinkie Pie had agreed, but there was always worry in the back of Dash's mind that she might get too excited and let it slip to one of their friends.

"So how was your week Pinkie Pie?" Rainbow Dash asked in an attempt at conversation.

She needed something to distract her from the intimacy taking place. Rainbow Dash wasn't used to cuddling yet, not that she didn't like it. It just wasn't really something she did when she wanted to show her affection, and a hoof-bump didn't fit the romantic mood she was supposed to be setting.

Pinkie Pie rambled on about the different orders she'd received throughout the week and how she'd gotten into trouble with Mr. and Mrs. Cake again for eating what she wasn't supposed to.

"It just all looked so good I couldn't help myself," she explained. "I took one look at all that food and my stomach got all 'GRRRR-BLUB-BLUB-GRRRR' and before I knew it I had eaten five three-layer cakes."

"It's amazing how you don't get a stomach ache from all of that," Rainbow Dash stared at Pinkie Pie in unsettling wonder.

"Not as amazing as your training," objected Pinkie Pie. "I bet you've got all kinds of new loops, dives, swirls, swoops, and stunts to show off. Will you show me Dash? Pleeeease show me your new tricks?"

"I would Pinkie Pie but I've been too distracted to focus on my practice," Rainbow Dash admitted. "If I showed you all the stuff I have in mind, I won't be able to give you your surprise."

"Surprise?!" Pinkie Pie's exploded with elation. "I love surprises! Did you get me a present? Did you throw me a party? Did you bake ME a cupcake? Did you-"

Rainbow Dash smiled, sighed, and rolled her eyes as she trotted ahead behind a bush. As Pinkie Pie continued to guess what her surprise could be, Rainbow Dash pulled out from the bush with a small chariot trailing behind her.

"A chariot?" Pinkie Pie said as she approached it.

"I borrowed it from Applejack," Rainbow Dash said as she strapped herself into the harness. "She uses it to haul a lot of stuff around, but I thought I'd be able to use it for strength training. You should get in quick. I don't wanna be late for that sunrise."

"Rainbow Dash," Pinkie Pie turned almost cherry red as she trotted into the chariot. "I've never been in a chariot before. I've never even thought about what it would be like to ride in one."

"Just hold on," Rainbow Dash smiled and began to gallop into a liftoff.

In a matter of moments, the chariot was in the air and a strong wind was blowing through Pinkie Pie's mane. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath of cool fresh air. When she opened her eyes, she looked down over the side of the chariot. Ponyville stood below her and she giggled at the sight of it.

"Ponyville looks so teeny-tiny," Pinkie Pie laughed. "I can see Sugar Cube Corner, the library, and even Sweet Apple Acres from all the way up here. I feel like a balloon floating away really fast. How fast are we going? Can we go faster?"

"You want fast," a mischievous grin formed on Dash's face. "You've got fast."

Rainbow Dash gained a bit more altitude before starting a direct descent into Ponyville. The wind rushed by them as the chariot gained speed and Pinkie Pie raised her hooves into the air. She screamed in excitement as the chariot pulled up just above the ground and ascended once more into the sky.

"That was so much fun," Pinkie Pie managed to say in a rolling fit of giggles.

With the light of dawn making itself known on the horizon, Rainbow Dash landed the chariot in a nearby clearing near the edge of a cliff. A patch of wildflowers covered the ground and a crystal clear pond had formed closer to the mountain. Rainbow Dash unhooked herself from the chariot and trotted over to the cliff's edge. Pinkie Pie followed and the two ponies stood side by side.

"Thank you for the ride Dash," Pinkie Pie proceeded to nuzzle her. "That was the best surprise anypony has ever given me in the whole history of pony surprises."

"There's no need to thank me," Rainbow Dash looked at Pinkie Pie and laughed. "I had just as much fun as you did. That's one of the reasons I-"

Rainbow Dash paused and looked out to the horizon. The sun was just beginning to become visible. The light from its warm rays revealing the deep blush on Rainbow Dash's frowning features.

"That's why-" Rainbow Dash tried to say again before closing her eyes with a sigh.

"That's why what?" Pinkie Pie asked as her eyes filled with worry.

"This isn't easy for me ya know," Rainbow Dash growled a bit in frustration. "I don't know why it's so hard for me to just tell you I love you. I want to tell you that I never have more fun than when I'm with you. That I can't focus on my training or my weather because I'd rather be having fun with you than doing anything else. That when I'm with you, I feel more alive then when I'm doing a divebomb and pulling up at the last minute."

Rainbow Dash was now breathing heavily, her face flushed, and her ears drooping.

Pinkie Pie giggled and said, "Nopony said that telling me how you feel had to be hard, silly filly. I already told you that you didn't have to say anything, didn't I? So what are you so worried about? Don't tell me Rainbow Dash, the best flyer in all of Equestria, is scared of her own feelings? That's just too funny."

Rainbow Dash's ears perked up and she got right in Pinkie Pie's face, "I'm not scared of anything."

"That's not what it sounded like," Pinkie Pie said in her sing-song voice as she bounced around Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dash sighed, placed out a hoof to keep Pinkie Pie in place, and planted a soft kiss upon her cheek.

"I told you," Rainbow Dash smiled and placed a hoof proudly to her chest. "Nothing scares Rainbow Dash."

Pinkie Pie giggled and gave Rainbow Dash her own kiss on the cheek.

"Ugh, no fair," Rainbow Dash blushed.

"It's no fun if I can't do it too," Pinkie Pie frowned.

"Fine," Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes and Pinkie Pie continued to smother her with kisses. "Pinkie Pie!"

It's cute and quite sweet.

Pinkie Pie is dead on in character, but rainbow dash feels a little off to me. It makes sense that's she's nervous, but she always struck me as the kind of girl that would put up a confident or indignant front to hide her nervousness or embarrassment.

Other than that, it's well written and I enjoy looking forward to what might come next.

There are three things that stood out to me.

The first is Pinkie Pie. This is something I see a lot in lots of fandoms, but authors will tend to find a certain prevalent character trait of a character and blow it up even more than it already is. In your case, Pinkie's exuberance is excessive. It's in my opinion, beyond what she would do in the show. But only just. A notch down and it'd be perfect I think.

Rainbow Dash is too...open. I would agree with Nathan here actually so you can just listen to him.

Okay, I thought I had a third one but I can't remember. So even if I did, it obviously wasn't important or I'd have remembered it! So never-mind, only two things!

Hell I only did the incest AppleMac one because somebody wanted to see the consequences of that, more than the romance/fap fic.

I'm moving away from shipping I think though. I feel I've exhausted my resources for that.

Though I am a little hypocritcal, I've shipped Trixie with an OC, tho she's become a different pony due to story elements etc etc... so it's more of an OC story using the Great and Powerful Trixie as a sort of overlying theme, controlling and shaping an oc pony's story.

Someone mentioned in a thread way earlier the idea of a RD who couldn't fly and the idea has been stuck in my head all day. I'm not sure how best to go about writing for a fandom, but I'm giving it a try!

I know that Twilight was already made into Megaman X, but I was thinking: Rainbow Dash could be X (she's blue) and Applejack could be Zero (she's blonde)? I was thinking of drawing this, but I want the insight of the bronies first

Also A.J. I can't speak for you and how you right, but for me marathoning the series would help if I was having trouble. Once you get a good feel for what the characters have done and said in canon, and how they've responded to stuff before, they practically write themselves. At least that's how it is for me. And across multiple fandoms I've been told I'm good at keeping things "in character."

Stuff like that is just something a lot of people do.

As examples, Fanfic authors are STILL writing Fred and George as twins who are constantly finishing each other's sentences, despite the fact they only ever did it once in all seven books. For some reason Toph calls Aang "Twinkletoes" more than she does "Aang" in fanfics, and Hiashi is always more harsh than he actually is.

I'm not sure why this happens. But writing Snails slower than he was in the show wasn't so bad. Perhaps he just started speaking slowly as he got older? It wasn't so bad that it jarred me out of the story.
