01/24/11(Mon)01:13 No.22873170>>22873144 She looked up at the trees that she had bucked so many times over the years; the apples were starting to turn from bright green to their ripened shade of red. Walking over to a tree by the gate, she gave it the lightest of kicks, sending just a couple of the apples plummeting to the ground mere yards below. She tenderly picked them up, believing them to be the last she’d ever have from the farm, when a slow, deliberate voice startled her into dropping them. “Now lil’ missy, I suggest you drop them apples.” A large red pony ambled out from the shadows, his eyes narrowed on to Applejack, the straw in his mouth sticking straight up from the tension of his clenched teeth.
“Big Macintosh, please, be reasonable! It’s only two apples, and you and I both know I won’t be coming back.”
“That’s two apples that won’t be sold. We need every bit of money we can get, you know.”
“Please, brother, I-“
“You don’t call me your brother, filly. Now get out.”
Applejack reeled backward, unable to speak a word, even utter a sound. Instead, she ran. She ran as far and as fast as her legs could take her. She ran away from the farm that she grew up on her entire life, that she cared and tended for with the love that a mare cares for her foal. The tears welled up in her eyes, but she refused to let them out. She was too proud and stubborn for that. So she channeled all her fear, all her anger, every last drop of her sorrow into her pounding hooves as she headed for Ponyville.
