I would rather see normal sized Luna so that we can get her some actual characterization. We still have no idea what Celestia's sister is actually supposed to be like. Once we do, they can bring back nightmare moon if they wish, with the added impact of now knowing exactly whats lost when she asserts herself.

I thought the synopsis' for the Luna arc were fake.

Something really troubled me though. When Celestia told the ponies luna was her sister at the end of the second episode, Twilight and Co. all seemed genuinely shocked. Do they not know Celestia is immortal, and that she is the same ruler that fought Night Mare 1000 years before? Did they think the throne was hereditary or something up to that reveal?

Don't mind me, just hyped up on ponies and this AWESOME new McDonald's oatmeal.

This stuff is good. Also, these toys are really high quality. Pinkie Pie's head is huge and she looks all coked up, so I'm pleased.

I am questioning whether it was a mistake, or just poor elaboration though. The character spot for Celestia from the hub refers to "some ponies believe" that she is over 1000 years old, or something like that. Which to me implies that her history isn't common knowledge, or confirmed by her openly. The way I took it was that Twilight didn't connect the dots that Celestia was immortal until she had her moment with Luna, hence Twilight's surprise was a "suddenly everything makes sense" moment.

I figured it works out like this. Dash was never a lesbian, but she comes across as one, even to her friends in canon, so we were meant to think she was.

If you think about Gilda, it makes perfect sense. Gilda thought they were lovers but Dash thought they were just buds. Which is why Gilda flips out with jealousy over Pinkie. Gilda's whole big flounce at the end was with the sudden realization that Dash was straight.

My reckoning is, there was no fight. Celestia "tried to reason with her". Thousand years later, Luna comes back (with Celestia more powerful, even) and gets rid of her easily. Celestia = Sun and Luna = Moon, so Luna had the innate ability to block all of Celestia's powers and banish her from the world to begin with - Solar eclipse, see?

So their "fight" was more "hey Celestia how do you like my eternal night say what's that crown you're wearinAAAAH" because that's the only way Celestia could possibly win.

You know what'd be kickiass? If Celestia and Luna have some sort of duality thing going, and Celestia's the kind loving fertility mother goddess and Luna's the terrible bloodthirsty war guardian goddess. It'd explain why her armour had the more military look, and why equestria's a nature-regimented pit of frolicking candy brained whores. The world is out of balance!
