Last thread, we had some interesting discussion about the show's direction - the "sailor Twilight" concept shown in the pilot that had to be discarded due to corporate constraints, versus the "slice of life" approach that the show took once the opening two-parter was over.

So, for this thread, here's a hypothetical question: if you were brought onto the creative team for the show's second season, in a position of authority such that the only rules binding you were "keep it about My Little Ponies" and "keep it suitable for 6-8 year old girls", what would you change from how the show is today? And what would you leave the same?

I would prefer that the humor of the show stick to slapstick, lampshade hanging, and character humor with any references just being nice hidden bonuses (the Benny Hill and Pepe Le Peu gags for instance are still funny if you have no idea what those things are).

I would try to balance the adventure aspects found in the pilot with the episodic stories. The show would still be episodic and funny, but there would be small plot developments here and there, building in the background and leading up to a climax at the end of the season. Kind of like how season 2 of The Venture Brothers was written, though obviously with a younger audience in mind and less complex plots.

The show already does some excellent world-building that progresses in each episode so this would be a logical extension of that.

I don't know if the white as a whole was darker, or maybe just Pinkie's body. Or maybe it's just her color scheme is too bright and doesn't work so well with the way I'm doing it now... I duplicate the original image layer and define it as a "Multiply" layer, then bring it over the color layers.

In this case, colored Pinkie was looking pretty dark and I had to adjust the brightness and contrast of this Multiply layer.

[ The Subject of New Threads & The Generals ]

Please check the MLP:FiM Thread Locator and
Archive before going out and about and starting
a new thread. /co/ doesn't mind if we stay in
a general thread, but the biggest complaint I
see from them is that there are multiple threads.

A new general should not be made until the official
general is on the brink of autosaging into 404 hell,
or is at the image limit (150 pics). Once a new one
is established, it should be posted at the end of the
old general and everyone needs to herd themselves to
the next.

Obviously trolls & haters cannot be helped.

New System: When the old general thread dies, the
general thread image is to be deleted and placed
onto the new one. Old general will be archived.

It's just regular Sculpey clay. It'll be painted over, so it's just the closest color I have on hand. IT's not baked yet either, because it's just still kind of a test. I think Rainbow dash's face works well for this, though.

I gotta say I love Dash though, and it's super hard to cut her up :/

Not really, which pony are you after? Some are near impossible (Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. I know there's ics of it being done, but Twilight has terrible hair and Dash's looked like shit imho- plus she doesn't have the right colors in the mane anyway.)

Mostly if you have some curlers (Straws and paperclips or bobby pins, wrap hair around straw and fasten with paperclip) and water though, everyone else isn't hard to style. Just remember that Pony Hair is plastic, it retains its shape unless heated. So if you want to keep in existing shape or curl wet with cold, and if you want to set curls, or make bangs flatten, secure in place and use hot water. Do not submerge pony, but water is fine to use on them.
