Because US Copyright law is fucked. There are a lot of ways you can lose copyright to your own creation, especially if you are or are dealing with a large corporation.

However you can not copyright a name. You can copyright the character design, however. So the odds of a pink and blue pony with lightning on her butt showing up is pretty much zilch, though if they wanted to push it they could make a new Firefly with a different design.

What one did you work at? I was queen of Drivethru at mine, which puts you in charge of happy meal toys. They're usually very careful and order JUST as many toys as are needed. Often times, we'd run out of the toys from the supplier, and they'd have to send us...like...5 year old Treasure Planet toys.

Sometimes, we'd get Toys 1 and 5 in, and have to go back to 2, 3 and 4 later. You'll never be assured to get them all, since sometimes it just doesn't work that way.

Better idea, I posted this last night but I'm going to post it again just because I can.

First thing you need to do is buy some suspicious clothing. Two or three jackets, all dark brown or black or some shit. Make sure one has a hood. There seems to be an increase in the fan art and fan fiction since there haven't been any new episodes in a while. There have also been more trolls. Mostly bronies have been excersizing their creative sides.

Last week there was a very popular fic series ("The Severing of the Elements") which scarred a lot of fans for life with its grimdarkness, but proved popular enough that someone is writing a fanfic based on the fanfic.

Also there were huge debates about the show's genre, and a popular topic is how to request pony toys at McDonald's without embarrassing yourself.

The latest episode spawned a few new in-jokes, most revolving around Cheerliee or the term "blank flank." The new ep seems a bit unpopular, though I personally loved it.
