>>22672535 At first glance, Zecora seems fine compared to Gilda and Trixie, but in reality Zecora is a unique case. Zecora chooses to live her life almost in complete solidarity, separate and apart from all reasonable contact, and only venturing into Ponyville for basic supplies. It has been established that Zecora is from a foreign country, and it could be that the Everfree forest reminds her in some way of her home. The fact that home is almost completely foreign in decoration and construction supports this. Though she is fluent in the native language, Zecora faces a cultural gap that makes it difficult for her to really identify with the resident of Ponyville. Despite all this, Zecora is not maladjusted in any significant way, she is perfectly capable of establishing relationships and being friendly, as we have seen, the problem is she simply doesn't bother to do so. Zecora is an individual who is perfectly content to be alone, and simply doesn't feel the need to have friends. If people are friendly to her, she will reciprocate, but will not go out of her way to maintain any lasting friendships. Amazingly enough, solitude is as much her friend as anyone else could be, and that suits her just fine. |
