Ch. 6.
Twilight awoke hours later, well within the night, and in the company of her friends. She was no longer infront of the now-burnt down castle, but rather, she was back in Canterlot, as the other ponies had brought her back and placed her to rest in her bed. The poor unicorn was covered in soot from head to toe, like the other ponies, but Rarity, in her OCD, did all she could to clean her up.
Meanwhile Rainbow Dash grabbed a cloud out of the sky and made a pillow for her. “Oh, finally. You’re awake. Man, Twilight, you sure can sleep.”
Applejack brought her some applejuice to help her hydrate, as her trek to the castle left her parched. “Now you just rest up sugarcube. Ya’ll had a bit of a shock.”
The sight of the burning castle rushed back to Twilight’s mind, and she jumped out of the bed. “Princess Celestia! Did she make it out? Please tell me someone saw her escape!”
Her fellow ponies looked down, all except for Pinkie Pie, who was playing a board game with Princess Luna. “Yay! I win again! Best of 34, Princess?”
Luna sighed, before noticing Twilight had awoken from her sudden comatose. She got to her hooves and walked over, a little shaky in her voice. “Um.... Twilight.... Princess Celestia wanted me to tell you something. It involves.... what happened today. You all might wanna hear this.”
The ponies gave a quizzical look to Luna, but they gathered around her anyway to hear her story.
The princess took a long sigh. “Well.... the reason the castle burnt down is because... Nightmare Moon has come back.”
Rainbow Dash extended her wings in an aggressive show, looking directly at Luna. “Wait a minute, I thought YOU were Nightmare Moon. How can there be someone else?” |
