I mean shit, you've seen the story about Spike getting older while everyone else passes away.
Spike is fascinating in the same way that Celestia is fascinating.
We are able to project all sorts possibilities that exceed what is possible for the other characters.
At best, the other characters get some tragic parent fatalities, while Celestia is made in a manipulative god queen placed on various places of the alignment spectrum, and Spike is viewed at as an observer of the events going on in the show, who is meant to outlast the characters in the show.
Yes, we're taking a show about Pony's too seriously, but better that then the general loathing that comes from a show that one can imagine zero possibilities for. |
