A new general should not be made until the official

old general and everyone needs to herd themselves to
the next.

Obviously trolls & haters cannot be helped.

People are confusing continuity for arcs.

The show *has* continuity - things happen that change the the setting permanently and get callbacks later, like how they referenced Fluttershy handling the manticore in Dragonshy, and Zecora becoming a permanent character after her arrival in Bridle Gossip.

They just aren't allowed to have multi-episode *arcs*. Outside of the first two, each episode is a standalone story.

Hey pony RPG fans, I'm not dead, I've just been busy as fuck-all. System development has stalled due to a recent move from apartment to apartment, but it should be back on the track of regular content updates as my time levels out.

Most American/Canadian cartoons attempt to stick to self-contained episodes, in which nothing ever happens that permanently changes anything major about a character's situation. They do this so that the episodes can be viewed in any order. It's great for people who casually view the show, but it really does prevent the overall story and characters from being properly fleshed-out.

Whatever Luna gave me was powerful stuff! (OW, exclamation points hurt too.)

I barely got up and my head was pounding all day, but coffee helped. People called me Derpy and it was like I couldn't give a gelding's sack. I snorted and jerked the mail out of their hooves. One stud was being a real sheathhead so I threw his mail on the ground. I flew off then remembered he'd given it TO me. Pfft, he can wait.

Later I felt bad for snapping at ponies, but I had to rush to Princess Luna's. I put on my nicest saddle (Why the haystack needle do we wear those things?) and left.

There was lots of construction noise at her castle and it made my headache worse. I must have done something wrong because she got annoyed. "What's wrong with you?" I started apologizing.

Princess Luna moved in closer. "There there, Bubbly," she said in that sickly sweet voice. Suddenly she nuzzled me and licked my ear! It sent a jolt through me and my mind went blank. Then she turned and told me to follow. My heart pounded and my mouth went dry, which was bad if she wanted me to... you know.

Instead she took me out to the piles of big stones. There weren't any workhorses but I could still hear stuff going on. Suddenly a humongous stone in front of us, like 800 hands tall, glowed and shot up in the air. There were horribly loud noises as sparks flew off it a side at a time, leaving polished faces or finely grooved edges. It hurt my head but the sounds were musical in a way. My eyes couldn't help but follow as the stone shot at the castle like it was going to knock it down, but it stopped perfectly in place.

"This is whom I want you to meet," Princess Luna said, getting my attention. I turned to see a perspiring light blue unicorn with a white mane. I gasped.

"Bubbly Shines, this is My Amazing Student, The Great and Powerful Trixie."

All of the references to past episodes so far have only been to the first 2 pilot episodes that established the plot and characters. I think that's about as far as they're prepared to go.

As far as continuity problems with Applebloom's club go, the sad truth is that they're probably just not going to mention it again. The reason they felt safe in doing something like this is probably because Applebloom is a supporting character that doesn't even appear in most episodes.

My guess is that they'll show her with her two friends every now and then, but the club won't be mentioned and their cutie marks won't be brought up.

Yes and no. All those references are not necessary for an episode. It would be difficult to have a secret club episode that was not part of an overarching plot unless the episode it was contained in also explained what the club was about. It's not hard, but still necessary.

Not true. We've got recurring characters from previous episodes that weren't the premiere. Zecora, for example, and now Snails.

The layout artist from the show who showed up for Q&A last night said that Faust has written this incredibly fleshed out world for the show, and they try to stick to the rules as much as possible. The show's got continuity.

It's entirely possible we could see the club again. I'm not personally expecting it, because I doubt we'll see much of the little ponies again, they're not really the focus of the show. But it wouldn't surprise me. That said, I'm not expecting to see Apple Bloom get her cutie mark. These characters don't age.
