01/07/11(Fri)13:21 No.22440135>>22439880 Well, you could take it to be a reference to the supposedly idealist utopia the ponies live in as part of a children's show. A mostly stagnant world, beautiful and certainly kind, but largely without change, where morals are learned and forgotten, no conflict ever lasts, and no one ever, ever dies. Just like all children's shows.
In this world, the ponies live eternally, unable to die due to standards and practices, a pleasant world, but eternal, and ultimately boring. The centuries pressing in on them as time goes by without major accomplishments of ponykind. Nothing is ever invented, no new land is ever discovered, just an eternal, stagnant land, kept under Princess Celestia's eternal, watchful gaze.
And, one by one, all the ponies everywhere, as the days turn to weeks and the weeks turn to months and the months turn to years... to decades... to centuries go on... all of them... every last one... eventually just... snaps. In a last, desperate attempt to cope, latching onto one thing, anything at all, as the last cord of sanity breaks in twain.
... like fashion... ... or precious apples... ... or even parties every day...
... It brings a whole new meaning to the "Pinkie is self-aware" theory, don't you think? |
