see from them is that there are multiple threads.

A new general should not be made until the official
general is on the brink of autosaging into 404 hell,
or is at the image limit (150 pics). Once a new one
is established, it should be posted at the end of the
old general and everyone needs to herd themselves to
the next.

Obviously trolls & haters cannot be helped.

Well, an animator was here earlier to explain it all. They really aren't interested in the background characters. At least not at all like /co/ is interested. They like some of the models, aesthetically, so they may reuse them over and over (Derpy, for instance), but they may just as easily change mane color, cutie mark, etc.

I am totally interested! Let's see. Nothing majorly wrong that I can see, a typo or two. Since you say you didn't intend to make Celestia particularly harsh or stern, I was surprised that she came off so a bit towards the beginning - moreso than in the show, but considering that in the show she's generally interacting with Twilight (and then only rarely), there's plenty of space for her to be a bit harder than she is to her student. Luna I can also find no faults with, but then we have even less characterization than for Celestia - what we can try to gather from the show (pride in her work, repentance, a bit of scorn for foalishness) is all there, though.

now more as a fun experiment in world building than anything

i was thinking of ways to make plausible in this world that the carnivores are not eating the herbivores, and i'm thinking some kind of ritual is in order. perhaps the first king did it, channeled some kind of powerful magic over the entire land which calmed all who saw it and gave them free will. and that this ritual has to be repeated every year by the sitting king, giving a lot of his blood and energy, making him comatose for days or whatnot. somewhat like that whole summer sun celebration but much more important.

that'll probably be the introductory point for the story, the pilot as it were, the ritual being interrupted by a missing king and everything going to fucking hell because of it.

The only Unicorn magic we've seen from Snips or Snails is Snails' horn glowing. The way he got it started in fits and stops in the Ursa's cave, I would assume that's not his usual manner of using his horn.

Others have posted the idea that Snails is a glue-maker, possibly using the hoof and mane trimmings from Snips' barber ship. Let's assume he magically does a process equivalent to boiling animal hides.

Is hair the only thing Snips can cut? Perhaps he can only cut string-shaped objects; can he cut down a tree?

Did they get their cutie marks on a shared adventure? Also, are they called "cutie marks" by the guys, or do they call them "butt marks" like Lauren does?

I've been out of the loop for a few months, it's a bit weird to see My Little Pony being rebooted and ferociously discussed on /co/. Isn't it from the 80s? My little sister played with them, it was basically the exact opposite of Turtles. Pink and blue.

The reason Friendship is Magic has a male fandom is because it wasn't made to be like a typical girl show.

In a typical girl show there's little to no plot and the characters are never put in any type of peril greater than not having enough money to buy a new pair of shoes. Also, the characters tend to be interchangeable; all acting pretty much the same (much like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when they're written badly).

Lauren Faust aimed to make this like a regular show, rather than like the typical girl show, and as a result it's grabbed the attention of both sexes.

There's also a lot of funny jokes and reaction faces.

Sure, there are people who like it for porn and stuff, but you can find people like that in pretty much any fandom.

It's available on its own website, hubworld.com and also on youtube under the account PensivePony. As a 32-year-old man who enjoyed Johnny Bravo, Foster's Home, and Samurai Jack, I was surprised to find myself a fan after just one episode.

I personally recommend episode 4 (Applebuck Season) or 5 (Griffon the Brush-Off) first, and then the rest in order. However, other people recommend the pilot first (it is epic fantasy, but it makes the show seem a bit more formulaic than it turns out to be.)

Snips actually has very strong magic. He just doesn't use it much, because the average pony encounters surprisingly few problems which can be solved by cutting something into pieces.

Snails' power is to generate heat. Not to create fire, but to make objects hotter without igniting them. He uses this to create glue. It's difficult for him to produce light, because he has to concentrate enough to make the air glow, and it takes a lot of effort to contain that much heat.
