Let us begin with some episode fiction.

In before the episode where Spike's parents finally find their son after losing him in some freak accident, perhaps involving a storm or blizzard. While not being resentful or harsh parents, they demand the obvious off their son to return and live with them far away from Equestria. Conscientiously, Spike agrees to return with his parents to whatever land they are departing for. He lies to all of the ponies apart from Twilight on the premise of his departure and that he'll shortly return. This prompts Twilight to quickly arrange with her friends a party for Spike as well as his parents with each individual task for a friend. Applejack for the food and pastries, Rainbow Dash for the perfect weather management and a personal show of her best tricks and techniques, Rarity for the decor and furniture as well as to arrange the location exposition, Pinkie Pie to invite and arrange many of the festivities and activites primarily for Spike to participate in and finally Fluttershy to arrange a choir of avians. Unbeknownst to Spike, Twilight laboriously overviews and assists each task.

The party goes beyond expectations thanks to the arduous assistance of Twilight ensuring everything went perfect. Impressing Spike's parents significantly. Near the conclusion of the fantastic party and the coming of night, Twilight prepares for the grand finale of magnificent fireworks created through magic with the support from Celestria.

maybe the animator went to grab a background pony but accidentally used an in between frame from some other episode where the background pony was talking in a loop (like at pinkies party).

same thing with derpys eye. an animator probably messed up but didn't notice because he had to put in like 50 background ponies that day for a half dozen scenes.

They have people to check these things but unless its something noticeable on a main character it would be pretty easy to miss it. hell even with hundreds of bronies watching the episodes it takes us a while to catch stuff.

/co/ expected it to be shit, and watched it to ridicule it.
Turns out, it wasn't. Distinct and interesting characterization and interaction between characters, excellent voiceacting, animation that's up to par despite being Flash, and good (if spotty) writing. Because of the lowered expectations being vastly exceeded, threads kept going and other folks hopped on, which is how /co/ works from what I understand.

tl;dr it's a cute, funny show that has good production values and (unlike previous iterations of MLP) that adults can actually watch and enjoy.
