I watched two episodes with all the recommendations in mind. That Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash are fantastic characters, the writing is good, the voice acting is good and that the Applebuck and Trixie episodes are the best ones.

Plus that it's the cutest fucking show I will ever watch.

But..... that was all a lie. Pinkie Pie was the most annoying fucking character I've seen in a long time, Rainbow Dash is just an average Tomboyish character, the stories are uninteresting as fuck all, and the ponies aren't that fucking cute. The only thing I'll say wasn't a lie was the voice acting.

If there is a better episode, I will watch it. But my stance on this show is that it's bad and doesn't deserve this huge fanbase.

But I'm not going to shit up your Generals with gore or yaoi. I'm not going to make Anti-MLP generals.

Applebuck is considered a good episode b most people, but its not considered the best, and the only people that say the Trixie episode is the best are just fans of Trixie. Id reccomend Friendship is Magic Part One, Bridle Gossip, Winter Wrap-up, and The Ticket Master. All of those were better recieved than the Trixie episode and Bridle Gossip/Ticket Master are in the Top 3 episodes along with Applebuck season, mostly because the 3 share a writer. For the most part, however, every episode has a different writer. Faust wrote the two opening episodes and cowrote Ticket Master with Amy Keating Rogers.The episode with Gilda (considered the most meh) and Swarm of the Century are also the same writer, but every other episode has somebody else. Ive noticed that each of the characters work differently when written by different writers.

Oh, and if you continue watching, you can just skip Look Before You Sleep unless youre a big fan of Rarity or Applejack.

Pinkie Pie's like Deadpool-lite. If you know about how differently in character and quality Deadpool can be written, you can ow understand why some poeple love and others hate her. Its an episode by episode thing for me personally.

Also, at least a third of the fun of this show is the fan speculation and discussion. Celestia being an evil dictator, Angel being alpha as fuck, Spike growing up to be like the dragon in Dragonshy, Derpy, etc. all increase the charm.

If you like it, be a brony and post in the threads, ignore the sagefags, the horsepornfags, the spammers, and the creepy fetishfags. If you dont, politely say so and just scroll past the MLP threads.

I think there's potential for Gilda returning. Her very personality sets it up for it. Think about it, the whole point of the show, at least from Twilight's perspective, is learning about friendship. So far, most antagonists have represented a lack of understanding of friendship or certain aspects thereof. Gilda doesn't know how to accept other people and make new friends, and only cares about being cool. Her selfish behavior alienates her. Moreover, she represents an obvious negative by being willing to steal things and viciously yell at people. My guess is, since Dash is so fond of her, she wasn't always this way, meaning she's lost sight of those elements of friendship that drew her and Dash to be friends in the first place. If she were to return, this provides the perfect conflict and challenge to overcome, e.i. Gilda learning how to make friends again, or remembering what it was like before she lost sight of what was important.

So, they've discussed that Equestria is not the whole world, but rather the name of their country. And Zecora we know if from another country already. I'm curious to know what the whole world of FiM is like, what other kingdoms look like. Does everyone there look up to Princess Celestia? you know how FiM, while excellent, is a little too....well....pink for dudes in the age bracket?

well what about a sort of "companion show" for FiM geared a little more towards boys. it would also be made by faust so it could certainly appeal to girls equally, but the kicker would be the more boy-ish visual style and tone.

they would both be in the same universe, ostensibly, possibly parallel worlds or the same world but separated by long time periods, millions of years even.

think about it, a similar-sized cast, but different characters meant to be a LITTLE more boy-ish. There could be minor parallels drawn between some of the dinos and some of the ponies but they would be mostly stand-alone.

they could team up to defeat baddies every now and again, possibly for season finales. or maybe they have a common problem and they need to venture into eachother's worlds to solve it.

the goal of this being to, instead of drawing sharp lines between girls and boys cartoons (See MLP vs. transformers in the 80s), to blur it a little bit.

the ultimate goal being that you have to watch the other show to fully get what's going on in one during those special crossover episodes. And for instance maybe boys could see that FiM is really good even if it's girly, and girls could appreciate My own dino even if it's aimed at the opposite gender.
