Okay so, I have not been able to get the idea of Tron ponies out of my head so here's what I have so far as to the idea of a FiM version of Tron. I am tentatively calling it My Little Program.

Main character is Applebloom, she takes the place of Sam. Young Applebloom in the flashbacks, then she becomes grown up Applebloom for the rest of it.

Flynn is Applejack, who disappeared after inventing a new computerized apple harvesting system (hurr, all I could think of)
For all the flashbacks, Applejack appears as original Applejack, like from the previous MLP generations. Current day AJ as FiM version, but with age lines to show how much older she is now.
CLU is also Original AJ. Instead of CLU, her program name is COR, short for APPLCOR.
Allen/Tron is Big Mac, who took care of Applebloom when AJ disappeared. Tron's program name is changed to just MAC. (no Mac computer references though, please...)
Quora is Derpy Hooves. Really, only Derpy could match Olivia Wilde's adorable eye-acting.

I'm still thinking of cameos for the other ponies to work in. So far I've got Trixie as Castor/Zuse, Rarity as Gem, and Celestia as the current day CEO of Encom, which is changed to Celestcom. Gilda makes an appearance as the new Dillinger.

Man, I don't even know how Light cycles would work. What's the main transportation in Equestria? Would it be light chariots?

Just spitballing here, but I think it would be neat if they matched the Avatar cast well, but not TOO well. Luna doesn't seem much of a personality match for Aang, after all. I think that would be part of the fun, they would mess with the normal dynamic of Avatar.

If it were up to me, Applejack would be Toph. Pinkie would be Sokka, and Twilight would be Katara.

Rarity is hard to cast. Common sense says she wouldn't fit as Suki but maybe playing completely against type would be fun for that role.

A large majority of Male ponies in the show are shown to be drafted into the military.

I guess being male automatically means your life belongs to the state with exceptions being made for manual labor old age, young age. Either way it seems that there is mandatory conscription for all males.

Makes you wonder why they need such a large military.

Do they regularly fight manticores and dragons, or are there other more sinister nations out there? We know about the Sataur... what other evils are there.

And why were these soldiers not in the villiage to protect it when the ursa minor started to rampage, why were there so few male ponies in the villiage in the first place?

I think it's obvious Celestia wages constant wars of conquest that depletes the male pony population. their lives are worth less and it keeps the population in check. Military service also makes them fiercely loyal. (and any knowledge about the magic of friendship specifically the subject of loyalty would be great knowledge for controlling any other unruly male ponies... its just a theory but hey i wouldn't really trust celestia if you know what i mean)

Fluttershy was a caretaker for fourteen years. When she was young she watched the pegasusponys and she said to dad "I want to be on the pegasusponys daddy."
Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY DRAGONS"
There was a time when she believed him. Then as she got oldered she stopped. But now in the bacery of ponyville she knew there were dragons. "This is Celestia" the radio crackered. "You must fight the dragons!"
So Fluttershy gotted her friendshipbeam and blew up the wall.
"SHE GOING TO KILL US" said the dragons
"I will shoot at her" said the cyberdragon and he fired the rocket missiles. Fluttershy friendshiped at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
"No! I must kill the dragons" she shouted
The radio said "No, Fluttershy. You are the dragons"
And then Fluttershy was a manticore.

I'm in the process of writing it. I'm also in the process of moving, hence why I'm mostly spacing out various rules updates and posting smaller stuff, rather than the semi-complete "Advanced Puzzles and Ponies" ruleset.

I've blocked out a scenario. I'm also probably gonna make a few pregenerated ponies so that people can present it as a ready-made game for people to spring on groups as a relaxing exercise and take things as they will.

Debating whether or not to give some static numbers, or just give the basic adventure ideas and let players go through it on their own. It's the kind of game where you need to pay attention to how your players are doing.

Still; pre-generated pony suggestions are ready to be taken. I've already decided that this little adventure will have your ponies journeying through the Everfree Forest to a DAAARK and SPOOOOOOOKY cave, where things will then proceed to happen, and everyone will learn a valuable lesson about why you should never take a map drawn by the mailpony.
