i'd be for it, even though i have no idea how we'd do it.

Okay /co/, so yesterday I went to see Tron Legacy and I loved it, and then when I got home the first thread I saw was a pony thread, now all I can think of is trying to imagine some kind of MLP version of Tron. And since that's all I've been thinking about since, here's what I've come up with so far.

Main character is Applebloom, she takes the place of Sam. Young Applebloom in the flashbacks, then she becomes grown up Applebloom for the rest of it.

Flynn is Applejack, who disappeared after inventing a new computerized apple harvesting system (hurr, all I could think of)
For all the flashbacks, Applejack appears as original Applejack, like from the previous MLP generations. Current day AJ as FiM version, but with age lines to show how much older she is now.
CLU is also Original AJ. Instead of CLU, her program name is COR, short for APPLCOR.
Allen/Tron is Big Mac, who took care of Applebloom when AJ disappeared. Tron's program name is changed to just MAC. (no Mac computer references though, please...)
Quora is Derpy Hooves. Really, only Derpy could match Olivia Wilde's adorable eye-acting.

I'm still thinking of cameos for the other ponies to work in. So far I've got Trixie as Castor/Zuse, Rarity as the Siren, and Celestia as the current day CEO of Encom, which is changed to Celestcom.

Man, I don't even know how Light cycles would work. What's the main transportation in Equestria? Would it be light chariots?

I don't think so. Applejack's family sells apples because they need the money. I don't think Rainbow would be allowed to control the weather on her own whims, either (In Look Before You Sleep, Applejack explicitly says the Pegasi *have* to cause a storm).

Fluttershy's job is the most hobby-like, have no obvious benefit or source of income. But since Ponies freak the fuck out at the very THOUGHT of something happening without a Pony leading it, it's possible she's a government employee or something.

Speaking of the government, why can't Applejack sell all these apples? The Apple family owns a massive orchid. She wants to go to the Grand Galloping Gala to be able to set up a booth to sell said apples, the money from which will provide all sorts of nice things. Doesn't that imply she has trouble selling all the damn things normally? There's no way to deliver the apples to hungry phillies across Equestria? That seems inefficient.

Ten thousand children die of malnutrition every day, and this is pretty much the best humanity has ever had it. Most of them live in Asia and Africa though.

1 - rabbit meat is too lean, you'll eventually die of malnutrition if you don't supplement your diet (which you probably will, because if there's food for rabbits there's food for humans around too)
2 - you'll die of exposure unless you're properly clothed
3 - regardless of whether or not you have enough food to survive, you can't generalize that "living is easy." Sure, somewhere where there's plenty of fresh water, a moderate climate, edible vegetation, and edible wildlife, it's easy to live, but not all places are like that at all.
