Mayor Mare is in her late fifties, early sixties. Big Mac is probably in his late teens. Celestia is presumably at least a thousand years old. Spike is two.

Mr. and Mrs Cake are clearly older than the main characters. In the beginning of "Bridle Gossip" a mother pony can be seen pulling her child pony off the front porch.

Parents of the main characters on the show are specifically and purposefully never discussed, mentioned or shown. That's fairly common in kids cartoons.

A pet theory of mine is that it's tradition for ponies to leave their hometowns and parents behind once they get their cutie marks.

This is done because it is considered very important for young ponies to learn to be independent, and to prevent high population density by having young people move away upon coming of age (which would be a problem when the world's ecosystem is dependent on an equal distribution of ponies to do things like make it rain and change the seasons around.)

The ponies are not forbidden from seeing their parents or living with extended family members, just from living with them. Thus Applejack lives with her kinfolk on the farm but her parents are someplace else, while the other ponies all have their own homes and jobs but no parents are mentioned.

Each pony had its own deed to do clean the winter from Equestia away in order to set hoof to the new green spring. The pegasi guided the birds back to their home and cleared the sky from the gray clouds to free the bright sun from its depressing coat, others wake the animals from their long sleep, and the unwinged ponies practically cleaned the cities, the farmlands and woods from the soft white snow. Only Twilight Sparkle was having a short term of inner crisis how she could help the other ponies with her talents. Her 5 friends were present from heaven to earth and their indivduality and talents seperated them for each deed to fulfill. Only Twilight Sparkle along her dragon-baby friend Spike didn't know what to do.

After a not so long while, the light slowly died out and then finally it was gone. Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie and Apple Jack, same as her older brother Big Macintosh and her little sister Apple Bloom, went closer to the striked point and wanted examinated the scenario. The hole vanished and the heaven looked the same as before, however something else was were. As they found something, they were even more astounded what they witnessed.

I'm a male and my two favorite ponies are Rainbow Dash and Applejack.
